Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Sport

Short and long-term health concerns caused by playing sports are a substantial concern among players, coaches and the players’ families. Whatever sport you are involved with, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy chambers could support you.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the use of oxygen in a pressurised environment. Increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve and saturate more effectively in the blood system, which yields a broad variety of positive physiological, biochemical and cellular effects.

Jake Polledri, used his Henshaw Sport Chamber after a serious injury

Gloucester and Italy forward, Jake Polledri, turned to HBOT after his Gloucester teammate, Jonny May, recommended it after Jake a significant knee injury in a game. He believes his speedy recovery was thanks to his regular use of his HBOT Chamber.

“After picking up a serious, long-term injury, I was keen to do everything in my power to get back to full fitness. I had heard about HBOT recovery chambers from a teammate, and after doing some research and speaking to my medical team, it was a perfect fit.”

Rugby legend, Dylan Hartley, uses HBOT to support his general wellbeing.

Dylan Hartley, past England Captain and author of The Hurt, is a huge advocate of HBOT.

“After years of putting myself through the rigours of professional rugby, I am now focused on being as diligent as I can to repair my body.

“Good daily habits were always a mainstay during my career, and now in retirement applying the same positive approach to routine has helped me stay focused, productive and ultimately healthier.

“Time in my Henshaw Sport oxygen tent using HBOT is part of that daily routine. It has had a positive impact on my general well-being and most importantly, I’ve found a significant improvement in my ability to focus and think rationally.”
