Chelsea and England player, Fran Kirby is one of the most renowned women’s footballers, known for her incredible goal scoring and technical ability.

However, Kirby’s career has not been plain sailing. Fran missed a lot of the 2019-20 season after being diagnosed with a heart condition – but she returned the following season to become the Player of the Year awards from the Professional Football Association, the Football Writers’ Association and the Women’s Super League.

Then at the start of 2022, Fran was hit by another debilitating heath issue which looked like it may de-rail her chances of making the England Euros team.

Fran was struck down with extreme fatigue – something that wasn’t able to be diagnosed by tests and something which had no specific treatment.

Working with a range of psychologists, some of the best sports doctors, and nutrition and recovery specialists, Fran and the team put a recovery plan in place.

Part of this plan included having a Henshaw Hyperbarics Oxygen Therapy Chamber in her house to use each day.

Thankfully Fran was fit enough to earn her place as part of the England 23 for the Euro 2022s, going on to be an integral part of the tournament winning team. She’s also back on form for Chelsea and is their current highest scoring female player of all time!
